The experience starts with boarding the grand cruise on the river Brahmaputra. We will get in touch with you asking your preferred time as this cruise runs 01 hour for the sunset early evening and later 01.5hrs for a dinner cruise. We pick you up right after your breakfast from your hotel (within the city) and drive you to the famous Kamkhaya temple known as one of the greatest pilgrimage sites in Assam. The story of origin behind the temple is quite interesting and revolves around the Hindu gods Shiva and Sati. As the story unfolds your visit takes you to the next ancient temple from the 1700s, the temple of the nine celestial bodies – the Nabagraha Temple. Later with a great ethnic lunch sail across the mighty Brahmaputra to visit the Umananda Temple located at the world’s smallest river island. Get an insight of the Assamese culture and how beautifully it blends to the rulers of this area when they built these ancient structures.
The dress code is casual but do make sure you do not hurt the sentiments of the fellow visitors in and around the temple.

This will be a long walk, make sure you are in your best comfortable walking shoes. We will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and start our walk from one of the most popular markets of the city – Paltan Bazar, known for its crowded streets and popular for bamboo products and North-eastern tribal clothes. As you walk your next visit is through one of the oldest markets -Fancy Bazar. You can find everything from clothes to furniture and artefacts to jewellery. And later to the academic hub – Pan Bazaar, a dream destination for those who love to get lost in books. With a number of shops dedicated solely to books, novels and academic literature, you can easily spend a few hours here. But even if you’re not into books there is a lot to the local stores that sells Assamese clothes, handwoven fabrics and even silks. We will pick you up after your walks and drop you back at your hotel. We hope you had shopped well by now.

We recommend some serious non-vegetarian lovers to experience this. Please do not eat anything if you choose to take this tour. We will start the day with some fresh juice at a city juice corner to gear up your day, next stop to a place that will serve you some of the best momos of the town. Later we will visit one of our top chaat houses for you to taste some mouth-watering chats. Yes, we will take a few walks here and there in between and make stops later at another roadside vendors serving this surprisingly light fried bread locally known as “Luci”. And if you still think we have enough space lets have one last one on the list – Thupka. In the end we will enjoy a nice cup of assam tea and with some sweets etc to satisfy that sweet tooth we got.
We are not making any reservation at any fancy restaurant; you are in for a street treat. We will take you to some of the best offered here in the city, be ready to explore food wise because Assamese flavours can be pretty peculiar. Fermented fruit and vegetables are often used, and many spices are avoided altogether.

This is your perfect getaway to an eclectic trip through this trail of golden silk found only in this part of the world. Seek the beaten path to explore the textiles, history and culture of Assam. As the day starts, we pick you up from your hotel and drive an hour to this silk village in Assam, situated on the north bank of the mighty Brahmaputra. Also known as one of the world’s largest weaving villages. You will be visiting local looms to explore the indigenous craft practiced by the locals. The Golden Silk, found only in this part of the world is just an experience how it is produced to create some of the most beautiful local attires here. Do not miss an opportunity to pick up some the pure silk clothes from the villagers itself. We will surely make one more stop at a museum dedicated to the weaving culture of this village. Later we drive back to drop you off at the hotel.
Assam Silk is expensive depending on the design and the silk used, so make sure you ask the weaver or the seller about it. They will be honest to you and they are the best to know. Enjoy this beautiful laid-back weaver village where at times you will only hear sounds of the shuttle from the looms.

Day starts early for you, with maybe packed breakfast on the way. We drive one hour from the city to start off your day at the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. This will be an early morning trip starting with an hour-long elephant ride around the sanctuary. Please do not miss your opportunity to click some real close-up pictures of rhinos while you ride. Later you will be taken on open jeep safaris until noon in the swampy marshlands of Pobitora, ideal not only for rhinos but also provide shelter to other animals such as feral semi-wild buffalo, wild boar, jackal and many beautiful birds. Later drive back to your hotel.
Elephant Safaris takes place early morning; hence this is an early morning drive from your hotel. Make sure you have packed your binoculars and cameras to click your wildlife grassland experience. Do take warm clothes as early morning may be chilly.

Dzukou Trek

The valley known for its beautiful vivid green hillocks, blue mountain tops and bright flowers sits high amongst the clouds, straddling the border of Nagaland and Manipur states in northeast India. We will arrange pick up for you from Kohima, where one of our guides will meet you and lead the tour helping you along the way. You will trek 3-4hrs which will be 35% challenging and 65% moderate until you reach your destination to camp out for the night. All your meals will be covered as our team along with the porters will help you stay covered while you trek. Enjoy the beautiful starlit sky. Next day trek back to the point where you started, and you will have your vehicle to pick you up and drop you back in Kohima.
From the last week of June to the first few days of August, rare wild flowers as well as orchids of various species cover the valley in a thick carpet of surreal colours. We would love groups if possible, and yes there will be special rates for groups. Good walking shoes, raingear and light woollen is a must.
