Arrive Colombo Airport. You will be met by our local representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Dambulla. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, the Dambulla cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. Dambulla, Sri lanka Visit the Dambulla Rock Temple. (Private) Later today, visit the Dambulla Rock Temple, a World Heritage Site built in the 1st century B.C. It is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples and contains over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.
This morning, visit the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress, a world heritage site built by King Kashyapa. The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the forest. Discover the world -renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya situated in a sheltered pocket of the rock and approached by a spiral stairway. In the evening explore the town on your own.
This morning, check-out of your Hotel and transfer to Bentota. Enroute visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden. This botanical garden was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It is 147 acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers. Thereafter, proceed to Bentota via Kitulgala, the location where Oscar winning film 'Bridge on the River Kwai' was filmed.
Upon arrival at your hotel in Bentota, check in. Bentota is one of the most established beach resorts in Bentota. Facing the Indian Ocean, a tropical lagoon and a major river, it offers water sports possibilities nowhere else to be found.
After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing tour of Bentota such as the Turtle Hatchery, Mask Factory and the boat trips on Bentota River. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight.
Spend the day at leisure. The whole day is at leisure. You can explore the stunning surroundings of Bentota on your own. Being one of the most established beach destinations in Sri Lanka, Bentota offers great water sports possibilities. Apart from swimming, body-surfing or diving in the sea, you can jet-ski, windsurf, parasail or enjoy a romantic river safari on the river and lagoon on your own. Overnight at your Hotel in Bentota.
